Guilt Free Pasta:

I grew up in an Italian family and pasta was the staple of our house. It wasn't until later in life I realized that pasta five nights a week was not going to help me fit into those sexy jeans I wanted to wear. I gave up pasta for a couple years only indulging every so often when my boyfriend would take me to a nice Italian restaurant. I hated not being able to have pasta, until last month.

Last month I read online about this pasta you could order on the internet called Shirataki Noodles. It was said to have very low calories, carbs, and fat, sometimes even zero depending on the kind you buy. I went straight to google and started doing my research thinking for sure that this had to be a gimmick. Well, I found that it is true and that Shirataki Noodles are unlike any other noodle on the planet!

Shirataki Noodles are made from a Japanese root vegetable called the elephant yam. These noodles have almost no carbs, no calories, no fat and no sugar. I felt like I had stuck gold! But how would they taste? I ordered them and waited a couple days to find out. In short, they were great!

Shirataki Noodles really don't taste like much of anything, which is a good thing. Shirataki noodles take on the flavor of whatever you cook them in. I was so glad I hadn't found this "guilt free" noodle that happened to taste like seaweed. Now, I add them to all my favorite Italian dishes. I feel like I little Italian-American girl again. Chicken parmesan, Pasta marinara, Linguini with clam sauce, Spaghetti with vodka sauce, I eat them all now.

What's even better then falling in love with Shirataki noodles is the feeling I get when I get on the scale. With no carbs, and no added calories going into my meals, I have been loosing the pounds and I am looking great in those jeans.
