Always make sure that the cooking utensils you are about to use are clean before starting any cooking. This is a basic but very important rule for any cook. You should clean your dishes as they are used. Put some hot soapy water in a fresh sink on one side and keep clear water you can use as a rinse on the other side. Fry your vegetables and chopped meat in vegetable oil, then throw in your rice an season with some soy sauce, ginger, garlic and other spices of your choice.
Use another timer in addition to the oven timer. Using the watch timer ensures that you will always be aware of when your food is ready to take out.
During autumn, apples are an important ingredient in many recipes; however, they do turn bad if they are not carefully stored. Warm, dry air rots apples quickly, so keep them in sealed or tied plastic bags and make sure they are stored in a refrigerator or a chilly basement. Watch them, because it will only take one rotten apple to ruin the others.
Try going to a library or buying a cook book if you are wanting to cook different foods. Try a few recipes, and be patient with yourself as you are mastering this new skill.
